Terre des hommes (Tdh) is the leading Swiss organisation for children’s aid. Since 1960, Tdh has helped build a better future for deprived children and their communities, making an impact with innovative and sustainable solutions. Active in around 40 countries, Tdh works with local and international partners to develop and implement field projects which improve the daily lives of over 4 million children and members of their communities, in the domains of health, protection and emergency relief. This engagement is financed by individual and institutional support, with administrative costs kept to a minimum.
Context:
Present in Lebanon since 1977, Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) supports and works with girls, boys, youth, men and women, from refugees and host communities both from Syria and Palestine as well as Lebanese communities through its Migration and Access to Justice Programs in Beirut, Mont Lebanon, West Bekaa, Baalbek, Hermel, South and Nabatiyeh Governorates, including 7 Palestinian camps, 12 gatherings and covering both rural and urban areas but also hard to reach areas – next to borders with Israel and Syria. Directly and/or through diverse local partners, Tdh implements a four-pronged approach – prevention, response, capacity building and systems strengthening – to ensure the protection, enhance the resilience and improve the well-being of the targeted population, while promoting their capacities to become agents of the social change in their communities.
Under the responsibility of the Country Representative, the Grants and Reporting Officer identifies funding opportunities, coordinates the proposal writing/editing progresses and final reports. S/he also handles grant administration and follow-up and ensures compliance with grant regulations. S/he supports the delegation in project cycle management, monitoring and external communication aspects.
The G&R Officer will be member of the Senior Management Team. S/He will conduct his or her duties in respect of the Tdh Child Protection Policy.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in identification of funding opportunities in Lebanon,
- Coordinate the writing and submission of proposals, including exchanges among the Delegation (programmatic and technical aspects) and HQ (for compliance purpose),
- Support in writing the analysis parts of reports, situation analysis, data collection, needs assessments, researches, and studies,
- Coordinate and contribute to reporting processes for current projects
- Coordinate the preparation and finalisation of donor reports for current projects,
- Support preparation and review of capitalisation documents and evaluation reports,
- In collaboration with HQ, Mena zone and Program Coordinator, ensure adequate archiving, filing, and disseminating of the final documents,
- Support the regular update of donor mapping informed by the ambitions and outcomes articulated in the Tdh Country Strategy,
- Provide on-going research, strategic donor intelligence gathering and trends analysis and generate information to enable engagement with country level donors,
- Support the assessment of new funding opportunities together with Program Coordinator and Country Representative,
- Support fundraising strategy review processes, by introducing tracking tools.
- Represent Tdh in external engagements in close coordination with the SMT and prepare briefing papers presenting the delegation’s work (project, activities, programs, pagers) to donors or partners.
Profile:
- Education: Master/Post-graduate from a relevant University/College in International Development, Social Sciences, Development studies or any other relevant area
- Language: Excellent oral and written skills of English, Arabic would be an asset
- Experiences: Good knowledge in program cycle management, preferably in an international NGO/Institution
- IT Knowledges: Excellent use of MS Office
- Excellent planning skills, and a sound understanding of Program Cycle Management in development, emergency, and protracted crises environments
- Proven analytical skills and ability to think strategically in relation to fundraising and donor engagement,
- Demonstrated organisational awareness and understanding of knowledge management
- Excellent personal communication skills, ability to represent an organization to donors and external institutions
- Ability to adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery
- Good administrative skills and attention to details
- Good team spirit and resilience to stress
Salary:
Expatriate contract under Swiss labour code approx. 2’200 CHF (~1’800 €) net salary/month (x13), holidays: 25 days annual leaves, local accommodation and transportation, Health insurance, accident and medical repatriation insurance, return flight.**
