Program Overview:

The Accounting Department works in partnership with other Pathfinder International departments to accurately record and report financial results, implement and manage financial control measures, establish policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, and governmental and nongovernmental grant requirements.

Position Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, invoices and expense reports. Serves as a primary point of contact between Accounting and other departments within the organization. Trains other departments on use of accounting forms and proper coding.

Key Responsibilities:

•Verifies all Accounts Payable documents submitted to accounting are complete and accurate.

•Provides customer service to entire organization on Accounting policies and procedures

•Daily vouchering of invoices, purchase orders and requisitions into Serenic Accounting System

•Ensures all vendor invoices are paid in a timely manner

•Coordinate timely completion of all ADP payroll timesheets

•Processing of checks, wires and ACH payments

•Assists with annual audit

•Assist in the month-end, year-end close process, including reconciliation of various AP accounts

•Other duties as required

Basic Requirements (Candidates must meet basic requirements to be considered for this job.)

Basic Requirements:

•AA or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field.

•Minimum of two years of total professional finance/accounting experience

•Strong MS Office skills and experience with accounting systems.

•Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.

•Professional integrity, honesty, initiative, accountability and dependability

•The commitment and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, work effectively under time pressure and meet deadlines

•Ability to work effectively with diverse finance colleagues across a global organization

•Strong interpersonal and communication skills including experience in translating financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including finance and non-finance managers
