Summary:
Leads and executes Pathfinder’s global SRHR strategy to advance services and rights within communities; SRHR knowledge and practice; and strategic partnership with diverse stakeholders.
Key Job Outcomes:
In fulfilment of Pathfinder’s global work and leadership for SRHR, the Senior Director works collaboratively across the following strategy areas:
* Organizational Direction: Shapes Pathfinder’s overall direction for SRHR work. Guides teams and projects focused on the innovative design, funding, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of SRHR activities. Develops technical guidelines, standards and protocols. Provides tools and resources to support evidence-based and high-quality practice.
* Global Engagement: Cultivates and strengthens relationships with USAID, individual and Foundation donors, Ministries of Health and other external partners, so that Pathfinder International is consistently viewed as a ‘go-to’ thought partner and effective implementing partner for achieving SRHR targets. Represents Pathfinder in relevant SRHR national, regional and global fora.
* Communications: Provides compelling documentation of Pathfinder’s SRHR work, impact and learning to support our global communications, advocacy, external relations, fundraising and marketing.
* Management and Leadership: Ensures effective and optimal global resourcing in the areas of technical assistance, project management and proposal development. Recruits, hires, supervises and develops staff; assigns roles and responsibilities, manages performance. Provides coaching and mentoring to Technical Advisors in addition to managing unit’s budget.
* Organizational Performance and Learning:Develops, oversees and shares Pathfinder’s SRHR performance and learning.

The Senior Director is an experienced SRHR professional who is highly knowledgeable and credible, and can:
* Navigate the SRHR ecosystem with reference to Pathfinder’s unique capabilities within global health and community engagement.
* Fulfill donor and organizational performance objectives through program and project management and team mentoring.
* Provide leadership to the SRHR field drawing on evidence, practice and results.
* Draw upon firsthand experience of health and health service delivery in developing countries.
* Lead change where needed across a broad group of stakeholders in an inclusive manner.
* Manage and motivate fellow Pathfinders, who are passionate about our mission.
* Make compelling presentations through multiple media to diverse audiences.
Minimally Required Organizational Competencies:
* Work independently or as a member of the team, thrive in a matrix organization, ability to be detailed-oriented, and manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Communicate proficiently in English and other languages.
* Influence others through diplomacy and oral and written communication.
* Manage complex stakeholder relationships.

* Maintain confidentiality on work-related matters.
Minimally Required Education, Training and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in public health-related discipline.
* Prefer: Master’s degree or Doctorate.
* 15 years’ experience in managing relationships across large, international organizations
* 10 years’ experience managing and developing direct reports
* 5 years’ international non-profit experience
* Experience in developing and executing organization-wide strategies
* Experience with large government and foundation funded projects
* Experience managing large, complex family planning projects while living in developing countries
Other Information:
* Travel required, up to the 35% of the time.
